Sahaya is proud to support Arunachalam Jesudasan Trust, an NGO based in Madurai (Tamil Nadu, India). Below is a summary of their inspiring work with children and youth.
We are Arunachalam Jesudasan Trust. Founded in July 2011 by Dr. V.A Vidya, Mr. J. Rajasekaran, and Late. Prof. Venkatraman, we work towards empowering underserved children, young adults youth in pursuing higher studies.
We address all psycho-social and cultural barriers to educational achievement and learning. As part of our regular program, we help our participants enhance their technical skills, and professional qualifications.
Our motto is: ‘Power to people through knowledge.’
Vision: Our vision is to extend equal opportunity to acquire knowledge; to empower underserved and underprivileged youth in their pursuit of higher education and enhancement of professional qualifications; and to bridge all knowledge gaps.
Mission: Our mission is to bring educators and learners together to bridge the knowledge gap; and to create modular community education outreach programs for networking holistic growth of communities.
Our key practice includes creating a participatory, experiential, gender-equal, inclusive, independent, creative, and positive learning environment.
Activities and Programs:
We offer full scholarships for higher education. Our programs range from STEM-themed camps for children, to offering advanced workshops in psychology, counseling, teacher education, technical education for young college students.
Transformative Art Education: A traditional and contemporary performing and visual arts program for youth of underserved communities, aims to help explore self-expression.
STEM and the Arts: This is an evolving program that aims to blend critical thinking and creative expression.
